A Change Has Come

Hey Lovelies..

I know I haven't blogged in a while and there has been various reasons for this but the main reason is because I have been working with a friend of mine and fellow blogger Aisling Keenan, on changing Bella Beauty up a bit and improving it. And that we have most definitely achieved!

So without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to my brand new blog The Beautisphere

This means I have moved from Blogger and I won't be posting here any more.

I hope you will all continue to follow me as I have many exciting things planned for The Beautisphere!

Gosh Nail Glitter - Gorgeous Sparkly Nails

Hello Ladies...
Gosh makeup is nice and I have always been a fan but recently Gosh have brought out these gorgeous little pots of nail glitters! I am a lover of all thing glitter so I was very excited when I saw them. Basically, it is pot with lots of glitter in it. It's for your nails but I’m sure you could find many uses for them!
They are very easy to use but beware, glitter tends to go EVERYWHERE! All you do is paint your nails with a clear polish and before it dries, dip in into the glitter so it covers your nails. Put some more clear polish over it and wallah, its done! Gorgeous sparkly glitter nails!
I bought two colours but I only have pictures on one (Ruby Red) because I want to experiment with the other to see what else I can do with them and then show you!  Priced at €6.99 its a bargain if you ask me!

Excuse the glitter around my nail on my index finger, Dont know how I missed that!
I will post pictures of the other colour and how I use it at the weekend.

Will you be adding these to your Christmas list??

Makeup of the week: Jennifer Hudson

Check out the gorgeous Jennifer Hudson!! Doesn’t she look amazing in that dress? Theres no doubting Jennifer has been looking gorgeous lately, and after everything she has been through it’s good to see her looking so happy and hot!! These pictures were taken in LA at a shoot for Vanity Fair last week and Jennifer is really rocking that yellow dress!

It’s hard to get a close up of her makeup but from what I can see, it is quiet natural yet amazingly glamourous! Her eyes are simple with a simple shadow and on the lips, just a nice natural pink colour.

Jennifer most definitely does Hollywood Glamour proud with this look.

Aussie meet your match....

I have found a match to Aussie 3 Minute Miracle conditioner.. Introducing Doves Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment Conditioner - wow thats a mouthful! I stumbled across this to be honest, I was in the supermarket and I needed a new conditioner. I liked the idea of the oil in this - as the ends of my hair are totally frazzled - so I purchased. Not a whole lot of thought went into it. But I’m delighted I found it!

It is AMAZING!!!!! I insist everyone goes out and buys in right now! Now I love Aussie but this just leaves my hair ridiculously soft and takes conditioners to a whole new level!!

It claims to give three times the nourishment of a regular conditioner and I believe them! So it is like your normal conditioner but with a lightweight oil going through it. The oil is the magic. It softens and moisturises your hair without leaving it greasy.

My hair is not too long but not short either. I curl it or GHD it far too often and the ends are very dry. I refuse to get it cut because well, I don’t want to. This conditioner is by far the best I have ever tried and puts getting my hair cut off for another while!

Have you tried it yet??

Makeup of the week: The Kardashian Sisters.

Wahoo! It’s Friday!! This has been a long long week and I couldn’t be happier Friday has finally arrived, even if it go going painfully slow! But on a happier note, Friday means it is time for Makeup of the Week. This week it is all three of the gorgeous Kardashian sisters. I love these girls! I know they get mixed reactions from a lot of people but I think they are all great business women and gorgeous!!

These shots are from their recent shoot in US Glamour. The fist pic is the three girls in their PJ’s. Even though they clearly have makeup on, they still look less done then normal. I love the flick on Kims eyes and the bright lip Kourtney is going for.

The second picture shows the girls ringing in the new year. Their makeup is kind of similar here but Kim has gone for a brighter lip. Khloes skin looks flawless and you can see her eyes with the false lashes are the main focus.

Do you like the Kardashians look?

Introducing Naked 2!!

Hey Lovelies..

I’m sure you all heard the big news about Urban Decay! They are launching a Naked Palette 2! I cannot express how happy I was to see this, as you probably all know I am crazy in love with my Naked Palette 1! It is amazing and my most used eyeshadows. So when I hear they are bringing out another one I am just uber excited!

The only bad thing is it wont be available in the UK and Ireland  till January! That seems like a lifetime away I simply don’t think I will last that long. I’m going to see what I can do and who I know in the US who can buy it for me and send it over.

Obviously I don’t have one yet but here are some pictures of it that I found online...

Wheres the shine??

Everyone always raves about how good Sally Hansen products are, and being a huge fan of the tan, I also fall into that category. However, I recently picked up a bottle of the Mega Shine top coat and I was so disappointed at the results I got from it. I have seen many You Tubers saying how good the product is and read about it on many blogs so I assumed I was onto a winner when I bought it.

But I was wrong - very wrong. It is quiet possibly one of the dullest top coats I have ever seen. There isn't a shine to it at all and I'm really disappointed about this.

Sally Hansen claim this product keeps manicures looking amazing for up to 10 days and the micro diamonds create mirror shine. I didn’t see any of these results.

So what happened? Did I get a dodgy bottle or has anyone else had a similar problem?

Golden Oldies: Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream.

Hello lovelies..

I’m onto product four in my Golden Oldies series. I know I haven’t posted a new product every week and I honestly don’t know how many products this will feature but I don’t want to write about any product, I want to make sure it’s products that not only I love but my friends and other people around me agree that they are worthy products. If I was going to choose any old product I could be writing forever!

This week, my Golden Oldie product is.....Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. Now, I know this is the second Clarins product but if you have used it you will agree it is one of the best products ever!

I suffer with eczema on my hands and so I have to be so careful with the different products that I use as it can be easily irritated! Clarins hand cream is the only product I can use on my hands and be guaranteed no inflammation. For products these days - especially hand creams - that is saying something.

The cream is quiet rich, but not too greasy. The main ingredients are Sesame Oil and Japanese Mulberry, which are known for their soothing and protection properties. As the title suggests the cream is also great for strengthening your nails and keeping your cuticles well nourished!

When I worked on Clarins, this was the single most popular item we sold. At €19.50, it is not the cheapest of hand creams but with your hands being a tell tale sign of your ages, I think its worth investing to keep the skin looking youthful!

Have you tried it yet??

Get your feet winter ready??

Everyone always prepares feet for the summer months, making sure their toes are nicely painted and soles are rid of hard skin! After having our feet wrapped up in boots all winter, treating our feet to a nice pedicure is definitely a treat. BUT did you know that our feet are actually in worse condition after the summer months??

Think about the type of footwear we wear in the summer, usually flip flops or sandles etc - not very good for our feet, even though they look pretty! There is pretty much no support in these and they leave our feet sore! Our feet are trying to protect themselves and hard skin starts to build up! So really we should be treating our feet all year round but if we are going to only do it once, do it as the end of summer!

Why not give yourself a pedicure at home? It is easy to do and a lot cheaper then going to a salon!

Here are some tips for DIY pedicures!

  • Take off any nail polish on your nails and GENTLY file them. Try refrain from nail clippers unless they very long!

  • Soak your feet in hot water. I love the water to be scorching but you keep it at a temp you are comfortable with. Add some bubble bath to give your feet and the water a nice scent! Leave your feet soaking for as long as you like! The longer the better because you are softening the cuticles and the hard skin!

  • Get some exfoliator and give your feet a scrub paying attention to areas of hard dry skin! Using a foot file, gently file away any more of the hard skin. Be very careful not to over do it though!

  • Apply moisturiser all over your feet and up onto your legs! If you want to paint your nails again do so here!

Thats it - new feet!! It really is that simple!  Your feet will be recovered from the summer months!

Do you have any tips for DIY pedicures?

Another flight......

Hi lovelies!
Hope you are all having a great week! I’m a busy bee preparing for ANOTHER flight this week! It is my 6th in the last few weeks! I never normally fly so much but with my new job, it’s been a bit hectic! This time though I can say it is for pleasure and I’m very excited for the weekend! Im rambling sorry...

All these flights and different timezones have left my skin in a bad way  and I’m not one bit happy about that! Planes equals bad skin - fact! But there are a few ways to try combat it as best we can and keep our skin looking ok-ish!

Some golden rules when flying:
  • Don’t wear makeup. I know its hard, very very hard BUT your skin will thank you for it in the end. The air in planes is so full of germs and can cause your skin to get very congested, so makeup on top of that really doesn’t help the situation! If you can’t brave walking through the airport bare faced, take a leaf out of Lauren Conrads book and bring cleansing wipes with you to take off your makeup once you are on the plane.

  • Drink loads of water!! Our skin gets super dehydrated on planes, so drinking water is essential! Buy a big bottle before you get on the plane and sip on it throughout the flight.

  • Treat yourself to a facial after. Dehydrated skin equals dull skin, and when you are away on holidays or work you want to look your best! Ok so don’t go out to a salon and get one but give your skin a little bit of TLC. Exfoliate and apply a hydrating mask. This will give your skin a boost and leave it looking healthier.

Unfortunately sometimes if you are on planes that much, they tend to get the better of your skin, which is what has happened me, even though I was kind to my skin on all those flights - imagine what state I’d be in if I wasn’t! Doesn’t bare thinking about!!

Have you any good tips for keeping your skin healthy when flying?

Makeup of the week: Cheryl Cole

Hi lovelies!

Friday again so that means it’s time for Makeup Of The Week!  This week it is Cheryl Cole on the cover of InStyle magazine. I’m not Cheryls biggest fan, but there is no denying she looks great. I think she actually looks really heathy, her skin is glowing and although she is still tiny, she seems to have filled out a tiny bit and it suits her!

Her makeup is not as glamourous as she usually has it, much more natural shades on her skin and lips. I think I prefer this look on her. Her hair is also looking good and again I prefer it without her usual hair extensions!

She looks healthy and happy. Lets hope she really is.

I have to say I also thought Selena Gomez looked gorgeous presenting the MTV awards!

Have you seen any gorgeous makeups this week?

Golden Oldies: Batiste Dry Shampoo

Hello Lovelies,

Golden oldies time!!! This week I think Batiste Dry Shampoo has got to be it! Can you remember what you did before it? (apart from wash your hair more of course!) . I use this product so much and have done for years and years. It is definitely a holy grail product and I would be lost without it.

We all know washing your hair too much is bad for it but if you have oily hair with a tendency to get greasy quickly,  then you don’t really have a choice only to wash it lots. That was before Batiste came along! Now, I’m not sure exactly how long it has been around but I have been using it since I was 16 and I’m almost 24, (not quiet 24 yet!).  So thats 8 years at least! I think that is enough to qualify as a Golden Oldie!

Many brands have brought out there own versions of dry shampoo and I have tried a few but I have always come back to Batiste! It is in my opinion the best, especially now you can get it in different scents! It’s cheap and cheerful and does the job better then any the other brand.

The Batiste website is pretty cool as well! You can check it out here for hair tutorials, competitions, blog and more!

Do you agree? Would Batiste be your favorite?

iS CLINICAL Fire & Ice

Hi lovelies!
Tell me what is the first thing you think off when I talk about a chemical peel? If your me or like most the people I’ve talked to, they straight away think of Samantha from Sex & The City when she gets a chemical peel and her face is red and blotchy - so not a good look! But what if I told you about a facial which is a chemical peel, but is gentle enough to get done on your lunch break? You probably wouldn’t believe me, cause I didn’t but it is a real facial you can get. It is none other then iS CLINICAL Fire & Ice Facial.

You may have heard about this as it has been around for a few months now, but I recently got it done and I can tell you it is the best thing I have ever done for my skin! The facial lasts roughly 40 minutes and, relaxing it may not be, but effective it most definitely is.

The facial
To start, the girl gave my skin a deep cleanse with a gorgeous foamy cleanser called Cleansing Complex. This contains Salix Alba extract, which is a source of Salicylic Acid. Salicylic Acid is an exfoliator for your skin.

Once my skin was fully cleansed, the next part is Fire. The girl applied a mask to my skin, which was full of retinol’s, Salicylic Acid, Gylcolics and vitamin A. This feels so hot on your skin, like a serious burning sensation! The heat is opening my pores and deeply exfoliating the skin. This is left on for about 5 minutes and then cleansed off with lukewarm water. Ouches!

Extractions came next, I really hated this part, but with your skin so deeply cleansed, it just has to be done!

Thankfully Ice comes next! Ice is a cooling mask, (from the fridge!), and is applied over my skin to help to close my pores, cool my face down, hydrate my skin intensely, and most importantly tighten my skin up! I know I’m only 23 so I don’t need my skin tightened up but it’s all part of the package and prevention is better then cure!

Once the mask is removed, Active Serum is applied. This felt so good and hydrating! The girl then applied Moisturing Complex all over my skin and neck. This moisturiser is very hydrating and soothing.

The Result:
My skin was literally glowing! My skin tone looked much more even and clearer.

I would highly recommend this facial to anyone who is interested in taking their skin care to the next level. It is not something you need to get done all the time, the difference will be noticeable instantly.

If you would like to read a little more then check out  iS CLINICAL  website or look at the video below.

Do you think you would like to get this done?

October Loves:

Hey Girlies,

It’s November! Yay I love November because it’s my birthday and so close to Christmas! New month means a new monthly loves post…so here we go, the products I have loved this October!

Carmex Healing Lotion – I got this in Florida and I love it! It leaves my skin so soft. I need to find somewhere in Ireland where I can buy it!

Make Up Forever HD Foundation – I am in love with this foundation!! I already wrote a review on this, if you missed it you can read it here.

Soap & Glory Solar Powder – I have been using the darker side of this to contour my cheekbones and it works really well.  When I just want an all over bronzed look, I mix the two together and it gives a lovely glow to my skin

Revlon Colour Burst lip gloss in 008 Peachy Pivoine – I only got this recently but I love the colour of it. I wasn’t expecting it to be as nice as it is or as long-lasting as it is!

MAC eye kohl in Teddy – I’ve replaced Smoulder with Teddy and I am so glad I did! Teddy still gives me a nice smokey eye but without being too harsh and Goth like!

Essie number 884 Carry on – Dark colours are my favourite in the winter and this Essie one is gorgeous! I think I have had this colour on my nails for almost the whole of October!

Girogia Armani ACQUA di GIOIA – My favourite perfume ever! Always love it and try not to use it too much because I am running low at the moment!

What have you loved this month?

Makeup of the week: Amber Heard & Millie Mackintosh

Hello Lovelies..
Makeup of the week this week is going to be a double whammy! I seriously couldn’t decide between either of this two gorgeous lassies and I’m pretty sure you will agree!

First up is the gorgeous Amber Heard at the premiere of her new movie The Rum Diaries where she stars along side the equally gorgeous Johnny Depp! Her makeup is quiet natural but compliments her gorgeous dress. I don’t think too many could pull off that dress but she most definitely has! WOWZA!!

Next up is Millie Mackintosh from Made In Chelsea. When I saw these pictures, I thought they were gorgeous. Millie looks stunning and can really do the vintage look proud! Her hair is gorgeous tossed to the side with a light wave. For me though, it’s the lippy that does it. Deep plum shades like this are so in this winter and they really suit Millies skin tone!
Two gorgeous gals - how could I choose just one??
Do you have a favorite from these two?
